U.S. Sen. Harry Reid on June
11, 2009: “As the federal government owns more than 87
percent of Nevada’s land—making it non-taxable—counties rely on PILT [payments
in lieu of taxes] money for essential services and improvements.”
Notice to ranchers and cows. Stay off our grass in Nevada. The red is federal land.
It is reported that Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, was the chief
representative for a Chinese energy firm planning to build a $5-billion solar
plant on public land in Laughlin, Nevada.

Could there be a connection with the senator from
Nevada.
The federal government is demanding a million
dollars from a rancher whose family has been grazing their cattle on this grass
since 1877. The federal courts and
judges are trying to destroy this hard working family and drive them into
bankruptcy.
The federal government reportedly spent three
million dollars in sending their storm troopers with stun-guns and attack dogs
to confiscate hundreds of cattle that have been eating federal grass.
Studying the map, it is difficult to imagine where
the cattle should eat. Not all of the 13
percent of land is the state is suitable for cattle grazing. The pavement of cities like Los Vegas comes
to mind.
I wonder what our Founding Fathers would think about
the federal government owning 87 percent of a state and sending in armed
federal agents with attack dogs to confiscate cattle which is the personal
property of its citizens. Patrick Henry,
Virginia’s first governor was worried about federal control and abuse of
citizens. He voted against the adoption
of the federal Constitution because it did not limit the control and
intervention of the federal government in matter which should be state
issues.
The confiscation of cows which eat federally owned
grass seems to be a stretch of powers authorized by the Constitution to the
federal government.
